Frequently Asked Questions
Creating or redesigning your home is an exciting journey, but it can also come with lots of questions. Below are some of the most common things clients ask before working together. If you can't find the answer you're looking for, please get in touch, I'd be delighted to help.
CAN YOU WORK WITH EXISTING FURNITURE AND ACCESSORIES?Absolutely.
In fact, some of the most beautiful interiors include pieces that already hold meaning and memories.
Whether it's a treasured armchair, family heirloom, artwork collection or favourite piece of furniture, I love incorporating existing items into a new scheme.
My approach is to create interiors that feel personal and authentic rather than entirely new for the sake of it.
Blending old and new often creates the most characterful and timeless spaces.
DO I NEED A FULL RENOVATION TO WORK WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?Not at all.
Many clients simply want help creating a more cohesive, inviting and functional home without undertaking major building work.
Sometimes, thoughtful furniture placement, improved lighting, carefully selected colours and considered styling can completely transform how a space feels.
Whether you're renovating, extending, moving house or simply refreshing a room, there is a service designed to suit your needs.
HOW DO I FIND MY INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE?Many clients worry they don't have a defined style, but that's completely normal.
My job isn't to fit your home into a particular trend or category. Instead, it's to understand what resonates with you, how you live and what makes you feel comfortable in your space.
Together, we'll explore inspiration, identify recurring themes and develop a design direction that feels authentic to you and your home.
The result is an interior that feels timeless, personal and uniquely yours.
HOW INVOLVED DO I NEED TO BE?That depends entirely on you.
Some clients enjoy being involved in every stage of the design process, while others prefer to hand over the details and trust me to guide the project on their behalf.
My role is to adapt to the level of involvement that feels comfortable for you.
Throughout the project, you'll always be kept informed and involved in key decisions, but the experience can be as collaborative or as hands-off as you would like.
HOW DO I MAKE A NEW-BUILD HOME FEEL MORE CHARACTERFUL?This is one of the questions I'm most frequently asked.
New-build properties offer a wonderful blank canvas, but they can sometimes feel lacking in warmth or personality.
Character can be introduced through thoughtful layering of materials, textured fabrics, bespoke joinery, carefully selected lighting, artwork and decorative details.
By creating depth, contrast and individuality within a scheme, it's possible to transform a new-build house into a home that feels established, welcoming and full of personality.
DO YOU ONLY WORK IN WORCESTERSHIRE?Whilst Squires Clark Interiors is based in Worcestershire, I work with clients across the surrounding counties and can also offer selected services remotely.
If you're unsure whether your project falls within my service area, please get in touch and I'd be happy to discuss your requirements.
